Things to do around Picadilly with teen

Not been to London for years but me and my teen are going for an event next weekend and looking for things to do during the day. He's mentioned he's quite like to go to the m&m shop in Picadilly so was wondering if anyone had ideas of other things in that vicinity to do that don't cost the earth! Thank you

Be warned, the M&M shop always seems to have queues to get in these days! There is a also a big Lego shop opposite it, also with queues.

Depending on the age and interests of your teen, this could be fun. I did it with my teen girls recently and they enjoyed it - https://www.mysteryguides.co.uk/products/london

They call it an outdoor escape room but it's basically a treasure hunt - a walking tour of Covent Garden and Soho (finishing up very near Piccadilly) learning about the history of the area. I've spent a lot of time in that part of London and still saw and learned things I hadn't come across before.

Oh that sounds brilliant we will give that a go. Really don't think he'll be that bothered about the m&m shop if you have to queue to get in! That's crazy!

There is the Lego shop opposite the M&M shop. Chinatown is just behind Leicester Square. Shaftesbury Avenue is close by with Forbidden Planet and Orks Nest if he is into boardgames/RPGs/manga etc

Japan Centre
Chinatown
Samsung Experience Store
House of Mina Lima (if he’s into Harry Potter)

There is the Cocteau mural in the French church just off Leicester Square, and the free to enter parts of the National Gallery, if you have any art interest. Not sure if you can visit the National Portrait Gallery without an entrance fee.

If they like food- Seven Dials Market in Covent Garden

Street performers in Covent Garden

Oxford Street / Carnaby Street

Trafalgar Square

Take the tube to Camden
Take the River boat cruise to Tower bridge then go to Borough Market
