Just hearing reports that Yevgeniy Prigozhin (an oligarch, mercenary and former confidant of Putin) is attempting to mount a coup, having claimed that his troops have been attacked by Russian troops.

Russian tv appears to have been hacked, and BBC Newsnight are reporting Russian troops on the streets of Moscow.

Hmm. I wonder what (if anything) is going on.

Sounds like the attempted rebellion has been quickly quoshed by Putin.

Unfortunately I think it'll take a lot more to get rid of Putin.

Ah really, quashed already? Interesting isn’t it, perhaps a first sign that Putin is not infallible (although goodness knows I don’t want someone like Prigozhin in charge - from frying pan to fire!).

I agree. To me it's a clear message to Putin's enemies that he's staying right where he is and don't even think about taking him on,

One can only hope - Prigozhin has outstayed his usefulness, and Putin was always much closer with Shoigu. Now they’re forcing Wagner to sign formal army contracts Prigozhin is losing a lot of his power.

Best case would be if he, Putin, Gerasimov, Shoigu and Medvedev got into some kind of accident where they all kill each other at the same time.

Well, I wonder what today will bring. For Putin to have mercenaries attacking Russia is surely not the best of looks. Putin and Prigozhin seem as awful as each other.
