Facebook - sofa! Cash on delivery!

Want a cheap sofa for my children’s playroom. Seen one on FB. They will deliver for free and take cash on delivery.

Has anyone done this? Did it turn out ok?

It appears to be a businessman selling lots of sofas.

If they ask for insurance for the delivery or any bank details then it’s probably a scam.
Personally I think if something looks too good to be true then it probably is.

Make sure you examine it properly before handing over the cash. But seems a good deal. Certainly safer than a lot of other methods

No. I wouldn’t hand any cash over until I’ve examined it though!

Argos do small sofas for a similar price if you want to compare.

As long as they’re not asking for you to pay for delivery beforehand or pay any insurance costs then it’s fine.
They won’t get the cash unless you hand it over. Check the sofa and if you want it then buy it.

I bought a freezer on Facebook marketplace with the same thing; the guy delivered it and I paid him in cash.

Maybe I should see what happens if I decide to buy! Definitely won’t be handing money over before delivery! What I find odd is that he is selling multiples of each sofa and he can deliver as soon as tomorrow!

That's how we got our chesterfield set, I was dubious when my husband showed me but they are great and a proper bargain! It was a business selling through Facebook, they delivered within 2 days I think.
