What is it with actors releasing albums?

Specifically middle aged male actors inflicting their decidedly middle of the road attempts on us, e.g. Lozza Fox, Hugh Laurie and now Damien Lewis.

Were you just watching the One Show?

How patronising was Rebecca Ferguson - the way she kept patting the other actress like pating a little girl on the head - and telling her she'd done a good job.

She's not someone I know at all but the whole of that interview made me think she was an utter arse!

Damien Lewis - probably still grieving his wife and looking for a new way so I'd cut him some slack.

the rest of them should just stop it.

Probably the rich thespian version of buying a motorbike. I shan't hear a word said against Hugh Laurie however.

The actor singing thing is just self-indulgent and cringeworthy tbh. Great to do something you enjoy, but...

In fairness he had at least one hit record. Following in the footsteps of David Soul. Even Jimmy Nail had at least one hit, can actually sing and was in a musical film.

This lot though - they're not trying to be pop singers, they think they're serious musicians.

I've no issue with a good song and singer. I love Padum Padum after several years of think Kylie should give it up. There's just something about these blokes inflicting their music on us.

I must confess I'd never heard of Damien Lewis until I saw him on the One Show today. That song was truly grim though.

I think Damian Lewis has a cool musician girlfriend. She probably encouraged him. Doubt he would have gone off in this direction if he was still with her.

It does seem like an odd thing to do in your mid 50’s after a long and successful acting career. And to be awarded a slot on prime time telly too - many jobbing musicians would give their right arm for that sort of exposure.
It really wasn’t great though.
