Me, DP and 4yo DS visited the beach earlier and waded in the water for a bit. There were no warning signs or blockades up and lots of young families were playing in the sea, but when we left a few hours later we were approached by two people in hi-vis vests who told us that a sewage pipe has leaked into the sea. We washed our hands thoroughly straight afterwards and I don’t think anyone had their face in the water at any point but we were in there for ages!
Are we likely to catch a serious illness? I’m so worried about DS with his immature immune system, it’s really stressing me out and I’m so annoyed that they didn’t put any signs up anywhere! There were dozens of families there who also had no idea about the leak.
