Communication app to use for abusive ex to coparent

What app do people recommend for coparenting when there is a complete communication breakdown?

I had to block him on whatsapp and messenger as he waa bombarding me and it was too quick to reply with abuse. Had me anxious to look at my phone .

Bern using email but he is refusing to open my emails as he is now saying I am being abusive as my anxiety and mental health issues makes me make stuff up!!

I need to suggest a way to communicate and I am aware that is an app for this..... but not sure of name

There are several and this seems to be a good review to read

I'm pretty sure that Family Wizard is an England court approved one from posters on here?

Our court order is for the Talking Parents app. However unless you pay you can't actually use the app, you have to log in via the browser. Tight arse ex won't pay so browser it is 🙃

SweetSakura · 23/06/2023 18:25

I use family wizard (I asked the court to order it) .

I have found it definitely helps as I have set it to only send me notifications once a day so he can't bombard me

The notifications only come as emails so you need to set an alert for them or check once a day etc. it shows when messages were sent and read so no wiggling out of things.

I use my old phone for abusive XH and only check messages once a day, or even less when DC are with me. It gets him out of my head as much as is humanly possible…it’s the number he has always had and he has no idea that everyone else has a new, different one. And getting a new phone with a new number was another step away from him.

Amblu81 · 23/06/2023 21:24

@Lavenderfowl that is such a good idea!

It was suggested by several girls on here @Amblu81 and it works really well - I read stuff when I’m ready and I’m not nervously checking my messages in case there is something from him, nor does a nice day get ruined by an unexpected horrible message from him…it takes away his control, without him realising.

Lavenderfowl · 24/06/2023 06:47

Oh and I have also set up a new email account just for him (or again you could use your old one and swap everyone else to the new one) - it’s taking a while but I’m not so anxious checking my emails now, he used to send emails in turn to every account he knew I had (my personal one, the general family one and work) but I don’t answer anything from him on those any more and make sure I remember to send stuff, if I have to, only from the new one.

We’ve got Family Wizard - it works well. It’s reassuring that if ex starts being abusive it’s a legal document and I can make plans to stop him. His restraining order has just run out and he’s started using .the app again.

Hi, I use Talking Parents but every single conversation with my ex is a wrestle still and he still uses this means to raise issues that he doesn't need to, and to bully me.

Any advice? Eg even the times I ring my son during a holiday he turns into an issue. He never stops...

We've been to family court. It was court who wrote in the use of the app.
