Anyone watching? I thought I’d make a thread we can drop in and out of to chat about what’s on.

Texas are playing right now. What an absolute bloody delight to see Sharleen Spiteri, looking exactly like herself at 55, giving it all. Her voice is still amazing. Rock on!

Cathing up with Rick and it’s made me emotional. So chuffed for him. I saw him 20 years ago in a tiny venue and his voice was astonishing. He kept saying how nervous he was then did swing songs, I Should be So Lucky and his old stuff. Smashed it. Loving his Harry Styles cover. He deserves to be on the Pyramid. I’ll stop gushing now!

bringincrazyback · 24/06/2023 15:55

I thought Rick Astley's voice sounded different, but not in a bad way. His voice sort of reminds me of Roland Gift from the Fine Young Cannibals now. Sounded good though.

Britney Spears allegedly spotted at Bristol Airport - ooooh

Ooooh - she has been one of Elton’s rumoured guests!

Just making dh watch Rick Astley with me now. His voice is older but he can still do it, and do it well. Love the Glastonbury crew all joining in with the dance at the end :) Fab

Actually went to see him in concert a few years back and it was great. A real feel good concert. Lots of audience interaction, played the hits with a few newer songs - really keep the audience involved and engaged.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to watch or listen to bbc introducing stage?

HellsTeethandBucketsofBlood · 24/06/2023 16:13

I often think they get the order of the acts wrong. Tom Grennan is doing a brilliant job, much better than arctic monkeys last night, he should have been much higher up the list.

Wet leg were the same last year. I guess some smash it with the crowd on the day better than others.

on paper though, arctics should have smashed it last night. No one could foresee Alex’s ego laryngitis. Their previous headlining was great.

Been out and about but now catching up with yesterdays sets from Gabriels and Billy Nomates. Have a soft spot for Tom Greenan - sounds like he's had a stormer.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 24/06/2023 17:05

Just caught Young Fathers on iplayer - they were amazing, long set and so much energy!

@Crikeyalmighty

I suspect some of you like AM because they were massive when you were at Uni or in your first job and were great when pissed!!

No, I was early 30s when Bet You Look Good on the Dance floor came out in 2006. I loved their sound back then, and the lyrics were just like well written poems. They also did pretty good videos. I do like their newer stuff too, it's just ATs voice live I don't enjoy. The band still seem to be trying to play the old stuff at the same speed and he has slowed down with his singing and it jars a bit.

Anyway, today I have enjoyed whilst sat in the garden knitting my jumper
Foo Fighters - I missed the start yesterday, and the song with Violet. Thought she was good, just seemed nervous. That and the song was about her recently deceased grandmother, so might have been a bit overwhelming to perform. I loved how the band logo changed just before they came on. That must have been so cool to see in the crowd.

Young Fathers - so good, so much energy. I was a bit worried with the chap going off into the crowd for the last song.

Fred Again - was ok, bet it was good to there with the sun going down. Perfect music for that.

I can't find Hot Chips set so if anyone has a link that would be great.

Billie Nomates set was still on iPlayer half an hour ago. Why did she get hate? I think she is a quirky singer and really like the stuff I have heard of hers.

he kicked off the pyramid today at 12 noon I think

LadyVF · 24/06/2023 17:25

Maggie Rogers doing a great job on The Other Stage

VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji · 24/06/2023 17:31

not for me either. I’ve seen them in concert, I do like them. However, do the old stuff as the old stuff and the new stuff as the new stuff. Trying to play the old stuff as the new stuff is not what people want at a festival. They want to sing and dance along.

canina · 24/06/2023 17:41

Whose on now?

Jellykat · 24/06/2023 17:43

Got my line up sorted, been at work all day so missed loads!
Rick Astley and Blossoms,
Pretenders,
bit of Jake Shears,
and maybe Lana del Ray..
i'd like to Leftfield too.

ARareKindaBear · 24/06/2023 17:45

❤️ Lewis Capaldi

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 24/06/2023 18:02

Joining in, have been watching as much as I can!

I enjoyed the arctic monkeys a lot more than I expected, the lead singer being ridiculously easy on the eyes may have had something to do with that though 😂

They have been so lucky with the weather this year 🌞 every year I went it chucked it down 🙄

When's Lewis playing?

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 24/06/2023 18:05

Jellykat · 23/06/2023 20:37

Looking forward to watching QOTSA too, think Sunday?

Saw them in Margate on Thursday night and they were AMAZING!

PoisonCrystal · 24/06/2023 18:07

Are we going to get Rick Astley & Blossoms on iPlayer?

Shame at Woodsies are slaying it

Agree, they were fantastic.

Now waiting for Rick and Blossoms, followed by Lizzo. Then apparently we have to watch GNR...
