Electric heaters- are they expensive and how to reduce bills?

I'm moving to a new-ish build with electric heaters, have always had central heating, and now worrying about what it will be like- is it much more expensive getting electric heaters? does it depend on the type? thanks

Night storage heaters or just plugged in wall hanging heaters?
We had the latter in our last house and our electricity costs were through the roof. It wasn’t a very well insulated house though so that probably didn’t help. It will cost you more than gas whatever kind of electric heating it is.

That's worrying. Yes wall heaters. I wonder if I can replace them with an efficient type or are they all the same do you think? It's a modern place so I'm hoping that the insulation is reasonable but still. Bills are high enough as it is!
