All you can eat buffets

Talk to me about buffets with kids. Do you get theirs sit them down then go get yours? Try to wrangle both plates and child at the same time?
If you take kids alone (1 adult) do you get theirs, sit them down and then go for your own?

How old?

If I'm on my own with my 2 DD's (before they could walk round sensibly with me) take them and grab a bowl of crackers or something. Sit them down, go and grab my food put it on the table then grab them some food.

I did theirs last because I didn't want them to start eating without me being there. Or put a spare plate under another, them dish up enough for the two of them onto one plate, separate it at the table. I then had a free hand to do my own as we'll, but only at places with counter space to put plates down while you use the spoons etc.

Depends on the ages of the dc, and personalities to some extent.
Some will sit quietly at the table to 4mins whilst you get food, others would be more risky.

We have a 1yo and 5 yo. DH brings the 1yo in a carrier and picks out their food and his (carrying 2 plates on a tray) and I go with the 5yo and carry my plate and hers on a tray. We all sit and eat together.

Have never done one on my own with 2 dc, but I could carry 1 yo in carrier and walk around with 5yo. But could only put 2 plates on a tray so I'd get theirs first and go back again for mine, keeping the 1yo in the carrier but 5yo could sit and eat on her own.

i did this with a 1 year old on holiday on my own we both shared 1 plate and I asked a waiter for help with the pram as I couldn’t carry one plate and push the pram at the same time or carry a child.
