Terrified landlord is going to up my rent

Just that. I rent privately. Overall, he's a good landlord. I've had a few issues with a noisy next door neighbour and he was very active in helping me sort the issue out.

He recently messaged me to ask about the boiler and seemed concerned that the pressure needed to be done etc. Usually, he doesn't message me about these things, and said he wanted to come over. He is one of those people that messages me something to try and be helpful, but sometimes has a bit of an ulterior motive. I'm afraid he's going to put the rent up and he's going to drop it into conversation. I can't afford it. I know my rent is 'cheap' in comparison to a lot of people, but it's a small house and think the rent is reasonable for the size.

Do I have any rights?! We are currently not in a contract (my 6 months is up) and I just pay him each month into his account.

Just looking for some advice if worse comes to worse. TIA x

You say you are out of contract, isn’t it a rolling monthly contract now? Have you read the small print? You shouldn’t be living there with literally no contract in place.

if they want to put up the rent in really sorry but there isn’t anything you can do
