Considering having two at different schools?

Hear me out. It would only be for 2 years. I could write an essay on the pros and cons of each school but I'll try to keep it brief.

School A:

More convenient for next 2 years due to particular circumstances. DC1 already attends. Is a 10 minute drive away (unwalkable). Would be nice for them to attend the same school, even if only for 2 years.

School B:

Potentially very inconvenient for 2 years (will have 3 drop offs some days!) but will be more convenient for the following 10 years (also have DC3 to consider) as is only a 2 minute walk from our house. Also more likely to make friends/have play dates in the village which would be nice.

Both are a similar vibe, village schools, one form entry so I'd be happy with either although only have direct experience with school A.

What would you do?

Can’t you move both children to the same closer school?

I have 2 at different schools and it’s a real pain, but I’d still go for School B in this scenario and suck it up for 2 years.

There aren't any spaces available currently for DC1. He is on the waiting list but I'm not sure if we'd even move him at this point if a space did come up (we've always thought we'll cross that bridge if/when it comes).

B and keep dc1 on waiting list. With a sibling in situ you’d presumably be near the top and it would be better in the long run. Is dc1 getting public transport feasible?

This is true, I hadn't thought about that moving him up the list.

Re public transport, not really as it would take almost an hour.
