Light hearted - What's happening on your Next Door currently?

Love it! I am a social media addict who never post ;-) but Next Door is so funny, I have described it as Facebook for over 60s I know that's really mean but what I am getting at is that our kids are using one thing and we are using something else!

(Oh and I know it's been done before but need some entertainment)

Anyway, my one has been pretty boring (London suburbs zone 4)
Top 5
Lost cat
Looking for a cleaner
Looking for a gardener
Car stolen
Lost IPhone

What's your top 5?

Burglaries
Fly tipping
’Caught on camera’ doing various dodgy things like trying car doors
Hooligans on small motorbikes on the woodland path being twats
More burglaries

I wish I hadn’t signed up tbh, I was blissfully ignorant of everything except the motorbike thing.

Came off it due stupid settings that meant I was getting a constant stream of issues from neighbouring towns and bad Christmas cracker type jokes from one member, many people complained about the joker, but a minority liked the jokes and we where all sour pusses with no sense of humour for asking him to stop, or set up his own page that they could join.
I was called a xenophobe for not wanting to know about the bin collections in a neighbouring town, presumably by someone that hasn’t fully grasped the meaning of the word.
It’s just full of people that i would be actively avoiding in my neighbourhood, so probably better I’m no longer on it.

With ours, there are definitely more lost cats than there are actual cats.
Someone has found a hoodie in the park (and put it in a safe place)
Another person is not happy about a French Bulldog that is terrorising the area.
Marquee volunteers for the village fete are being sought.
It's all happening!

BlackberrySky · 22/06/2023 11:18

The usual discussion as to why a helicopter is in the area. I feel like screaming "Nobody knows, not this time or any of the other times anyone asks!!!!!"

MaryBoggintonTrotterSmyke · 22/06/2023 11:20

Number 1, ranting about the LTNs...

That's about 80% and the rest is lost cats and people looking for tradesman recommendations

BlackberrySky · 22/06/2023 11:20

Oh yes, and another photo of a teenager walking down the road who quite clearly must be up to no-good because he doesn't live on that road....

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 22/06/2023 11:23

Lost cats
Found cats
Dead cats
Does anyone recognise this cat?
Why does Sadiq Khan hate drivers so much?

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 22/06/2023 11:27

I love the way Nextdoor vigilantes always talk about suspicious “males” rather than men, as if they’re calling in from a stakeout.

imapterodactyl · 22/06/2023 11:31

Man selling mattresses - does anyone recognise him as he's obvs up to no good. (He's wearing high vis with his face totally clear so a pretty shit criminal TBF)

Is anyone's virgin down?

Is anyone's EE down?

Who's is this well fed and healthy looking cat in my garden?

Would anyone like to buy my old bureau?

It's thrilling around this way 👍

Tin-foil hat-wearing conspiracy theorists
Some sensible anti-scam stuff
Complaining about how hard it is to park in Aldi
Giving away a greyhound Confused
UFO sightings
Mass car scratching

LittlePoBeep · 22/06/2023 12:05

We get a lot of gardening services (offered and requested).

Requests for seamstress are popping up due to proms coming up and dresses needing shortening.

Lots of 'man and van' requests.

Quite a few parents looking for jobs for their kids.

Someone posting every other day about 'justice for Marshall and Millions' vigils and protests. That's resulted in a lot of bickering.

PrincessFluffyPants · 22/06/2023 12:16

Video of solstice celebration at the local stones
Lost/found tortoise
Lost/found dogs
Gardener needed
Recommendation for local tradesman

Ours is never very exciting tbh

PaperNests · 22/06/2023 12:19

We've got:
Lost cat
Found (different) cat
Carpet fitter advertising
Gardener advertising
Gutter cleaning advertising
Who is setting off fireworks?
Whose dog is barking?
Whose house is this (photo of front door) they have my Amazon parcel
Complaints about barbeques
Complaints about motorbikes and speeding
Who else thinks the local restaurant needs new curtains?

Sweetleftfood · 22/06/2023 12:31

Sounds similar around the country! Forgot about the Motorbikes and the ring photos :-) and the horrible teenagers congregating ( on the day after GCSEs were done)
