First holiday in the sun, what should he pack?

My 17yo DS is off on a holiday to Majorca with his mates in a couple of weeks. It’ll be only his second trip abroad and his first holiday somewhere like this.

I’m of no help cos I’ve never even left the country before so what should he be packing other than the usual? Will he need separate beach towels for example? TIA

Beach towel, sun cream, swimming gear, shorts, t shirts, flipflops/sliders, money, passport, travel plug, mozzie spray, paracetamol

He’ll need a towel unless it’s usually luxurious for a teen. Hand baggage only or is he checking a bag?

Swimwear
Beach towel
Sun hat/cap
Sunscreen (lots and high factor) USE IT
Tee shirts
Toiletries
Shoes suitable for the beach (so sliders for examples) that you can wash the sand off
I'd also take a small first aid kit with plasters etc in case of blisters.

Main thing is to stay out of the sun midday/early afternoon.

Drink lots of water.

Follow safety advice at the beech re: tides/swimming and don't go alone.

Don't drink booze and swim.

Has he got an EHIC/GHIC and travel insurance?

What's the baggage allowance? Is he checking in a case?

He does have a check in case 👍🏻

He says the booking has travel insurance included but haven’t been able to see what yet, it was all booked by his mates without him. Are there different levels of insurance? What should he be making sure he has?

I’m not sure if where they’re going is the best destination for this particular group; 2 don’t drink, 2 can’t swim and 2 are very pale red heads 😆 Hopefully they’ll still have a nice time.
