Is this weird?

So my husband has 2 DC (12 and 10) from a previous relationship and I am pregnant with my first. The kids Mum is away for a week and a half (usually 50/50 arrangement) so we have them a bit extra and it's made me worry a little about how I'll cope with the mess/dirt and general muck kids make.

I think I'm being really weird but would like to know - do you just get used to it? Or do you not mind as much because it's your own kids? It's not necessarily tidying, but I do feel like I'm constantly cleaning at the moment - I only cleaned everything on Saturday and since then I have had to clean the toilet 3 times just so I could use itEnvy, I've cleaned the bathroom mirror because it was covered in spat out toothpaste, I cleaned the shower because it had loads of grass in the bottom from SD12 last night, I nearly slipped over from the conditioner on the floor too. I had to wipe down the living rooms doors because they had brown marks on them, mud from shoes was trodden through the hallway, the TV remote was sticky, there has been food on the floor and the kitchen table after meals.

It's not just the step kids (obviously more noticeable as I live with them), I find my nephew and all the kids' friends just kind of leave a trail of dirt and destruction! We don't have any pets, so not like we can blame them either!!

I have been in my step kids lives for about 7 years now and I do feel like for some reason they are a lot worse with all of this than they normally are, I have no idea why, maybe they're just being lazy but reading this back it sounds like they're really young. I could also be feeling extra frustrated and worried because I'm extremely tired and generally feeling a bit rough (8 weeks pregnant) and I'm finding it a lot harder to keep on top of everything because of the fatigue.

Did anyone else worry about the sort of mess and cleanliness of everything when they were having a baby? I wonder if all these weird worries will just go away when the baby is here??
