Bizarre package arrived through post

Got home from work today and there was a parcel addressed to my home but with no name on it. It was a singular lollipop and nothing else in the package.

It was sent Royal Mail tracked so I have entered the tracking number and it was sent from Warrington and has arrived at my home in Central Scotland.

Has anyone had this before? I’m so confused where it may have come from!

Sounds like one of those Amazon review scams potentially?

BertieBotts · 21/06/2023 15:53

Probably a brushing scam.

1ookingforthebest · 21/06/2023 15:53

Wow. How bizarre.

Newusernameaug · 21/06/2023 15:53

That’s so weird!!!
Do not eat it!!!

Yes definitely don’t eat it!

No return address, label, note… no clues? Was it an Amazon?

Bluebelle27 · 21/06/2023 16:04

Definitely won’t eat it! I’ll post a pic. I’ve blanked out my address and the tracking number for obvious reasons!

It was sent via Royal Mail so surely that’s separate from Amazon?

Also, there was nothing other than the lollipop in the envelope

Could it be a joke ?

I only ask as I have a friend who took to posting random vegetables anonymously through the post ! I knew it was him so I sent a random vegetable back .
I'd open an envelope and find a singular sprout 😂.

This went on for some time with both of us never saying a word 😂😂

I feel like my friends are all too lazy (and skint!) to send something like that as a joke 😂

It looks homemade! Have you asked for a free sample or ‘liked’ a company of twitter?

I once signed up for a trial on mumsnet and was thoroughly confused when I got a pack of knickers in the post (no packing note or return address!)

unicornpooppoop · 21/06/2023 16:17

Your husband ordered a pussy pop

MakeItMyself · 21/06/2023 16:23

It's so strange that,

A. There is no addressed name with a tracked parcel.
RM doesn't let me send tracked packages with no name box filled in.

B. No sender details on the tracked parcel.
The RM also don't let me send a tracked package without my sender details printed on,

All sorts of odd op.

It's a long shot but you aren't signed up to the Royal Mail service survey scheme are you?

Nope!

@MakeItMyself oh wow that’s interesting. It must be a business that’s sent it because it says postage on account gb?

superplumb · 21/06/2023 16:37

Same thing happened to us. Not from amazon amd royal mail posted. they were a load of those self seal bags, the ones you put stuff in and post. They came from a legitimate company and we havnt been charged either. They got my husbands name correct and address. We've never ordered from them before either.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 21/06/2023 16:38

Ooh Telly Savalas. I used to really fancy him!
Sorry OP, not helpful.

wtf is that?!

AMinfo · 21/06/2023 16:54

A dip and lick. Disgusting, but people do buy them from sex workers online. It's exactly what it sounds like.

YoucancallmeKAREN · 21/06/2023 17:16

Drugs ?

Winnerturkeydinner · 21/06/2023 17:28

Crikey the dip/ lick thing sounds vile🤮

Denise82 · 21/06/2023 17:31

I can quite imagine there’s a market for it! The lollipop is still fully sealed though so I think it’s unlikely! Although it would make for a good MN thread ‘caught my partner ordering dip & licks on line’ 😂

I was sent something random ages ago. Turned out it was from Amazon. It’s happened more than once and I’m sure one time it was toothpaste. I didn’t fancy putting something I received unsolicited in the post in my mouth so I binned it.
