Or tv programmes? I was thinking about maybe rewatching the X Files, if only to bask in Sculley’s quintessential russet lip (and from what I remember, awful skirt suits?).

Reality Bites and Singles are very 90s for me.

whoami24601 · 25/06/2023 10:47

We watched Grosse Point Blank again! last night. A classic!

PleaseYourselfandEatTheCrusts · 25/06/2023 10:48

Uncle Buck was 1989!

I think it depends on how old you were during the 90s.
I was a teenager in the latter half of the 90s so mines are Clueless, Empire Records and The Craft.

Obviously I’m a big Muriel’s Wedding fan as well.
MW, Priscilla Queen of The Desert and Strictly Ballroom are the holy triumvirate of nostalgic Australian 90s movies for me.

Instantly thought of Singles but Pelvic floor got there first. Brilliant film with a great soundtrack.

The Australian film industry is criminally underated in my opinion. All three classics!

Has anyone seen Two Hands? A young Heath Ledger in the lead, wonderful.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 25/06/2023 10:54

I watched The Full Monty the other night.

Blast from the past.

Strictly Ballroom is my all time favourite movie ever! The stage musical was amazing! I always watch it when poorly or sad and it never fails to cheer me up.

@Needhelp101 I haven’t heard of it!! Thank you, I’ll look it out. I agree, so much good material comes out of Aus and NZ that gets widely ignored in the U.K. and U.S.
@whoami24601 One of mine too, I cry every time. Now that I am 40 I also realise that Fran’s dad is pretty tasty. I’m so glad to hear the musical is good, I was a bit worried about it! Love your username, btw.

All Meg Ryan films.

Papernotplastic · 25/06/2023 11:12

The films that make me remember the 90s are Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Titanic.

My So-Called Life was the ultimate 90s teen tv.

LlynTegid · 25/06/2023 11:13

Might be a bit earlier than the 90s, but Withnail and I. Shows a lot about actorrs and homophobia in a way at the time.

TammyJones · 25/06/2023 13:17

Titanic
Pretty woman
Jurassic park 1
The full Monty
4 weddings and a Funeral
The Fifth Element
Mars Attack
Good Will Hunting
True lies
Sliding Doors
The Truman Show
The Green Mile
The Sixth Sense
Throughly recommend all of these.

stringbean · 25/06/2023 14:10

Before Sunrise
Reality Bites
The Wedding Singer
Grosse Point Blank
When Harry Met Sally (think that's 80s though)
Field of Dreams (poss 80s as well)

stringbean · 25/06/2023 14:12
