I've been trying for months to get into the civil service for months, but completely failing with the applications - scoring really poorly.
I've put in research into STAR method, and tried various techniques to get it right. I've been applying for SEO/HEO roles - which is similar to my current roles level (my organisation is a gov body which isn't a department but same T&C, pension and access to internal jobs), so i'm not applying for roles higher than my experience.
I've searched examples online, and I feel like I'm offering ok STARS, and trying to offer specific examples, with the main consensus on HOW i've done the task.
However i'm still falling short. At this point, do I pay for coaching, is it worth it? I feel like I need someone to almost mark my STAR examples, and pinpoint where i'm going wrong as it is obvious i'm missing something.
Is coaching worth it? I know CS recruitment is super subjective so may not help.
I cant ask for help in my organisation as we're employed via good old CV's and cover letters.
