Reseller yes or no?

Is it possible to make a living as a reseller on eBay? I've sold a few things for fun. For example, I bought a filofax at a car boot for £1 and sold it for £45.

About 15k a year would be all I needed to earn.

Thing is I hate my job (I'm a freelance medical writer). I've had enough of it😩

It is possible but can be hard work. I would try it before giving up the day job first though.

By the time you take into account taxes and selling fees you'd need to sell over £400 worth of stuff a week and that doesn't take into account actually buying the stuff in the first place, insurance, damages, losses etc so in reality it would probably be a lot more than that to sell. That's without having a week off too.

I have a friend who is a reseller.
She get things free or cheap off olio, fb marketplace, car boot sales and charity shops

Some months she does amazing, others not so much, it's not guaranteed at all. She also has to pay for a storage unit.

It will be a lot harder than you think. I suggest trying to find a profession that you will enjoy more.

Well I enjoy car boots and selling on eBay

Plus I'm in my 50s with no mortgage.

I don't want a career.
