I can't remember the name of it, but these are the details I remember.

•It is about a girl who has a tall tale about why she is late for school.
•I am sure her name is Claire/Clare.
•She says she was abducted by aliens, and she has a plaster on her knee.
•Illustrations were really nice from what I remember. One of the spaceship and a beam of light lifting her up, of her falling, of her plaster etc
•I think she had blonde hair.
• possibly aimed at 6/7 year olds.

On the way home by Jill Murphy.

I was also going to say that one.

I love the 'really big plaster' she needs. A really big plaster can solve many things.

"How did you get your bad knee?" Oh, we loved On the Way Home so much......

It's a lovely one. I love how the places in the background look too.

If it's been a long day, you can skip pages and change the events each time without losing the plot too.

That's it! Thank you so much.
I should have just searched Jill Murphy, all the good ones are always Jill Murphy haha 😂
Ordering it now! I'm so happy, thank you.

I just watched it being read on YouTube. So much better than I remembered, I just remembered that it was really good and I'd loved it as a child, so wanted to order for DC. Just as much a gift for me as it is them 😊

It's such a lovely story, I love how she can let out her real emotions when she's with her Mum.
