Breakfast at Tiffany's on North Rd is a cracking "greasy spoon" brekkie in the middle of town.

And if you like unpretentious tapas then try Casa Don Carlos in The Laines.

Market, at the Hove end of Western Road - they do tapas and more substantial bistro-style food. Fantastic. Archipelagos, also in Western Road, near Norfolk Square - wonderful Greek food.

The breakfast club for brunch. The ginger man for food-though quite late to book now.

VIP pizza. Can't remember the name of the road but it's just behind the Harry Ramadan nr the pier.
Brilliant food and great atmosphere but I'd book as it's quite small and popular.

What's your budget?
The Salt Room
Burnt Orange
Terre a Terre
Food for Friends

I love all these but they're not cheap

Dinner Recs;

English's of Brighton (seafood)
Tinto Taperia (tapas)
Plateau (natural wine and small plates)

Think I've only ever done spoons or hotel for brekkie Blush

Also, if you're after a bite for lunch RYBKA does amazing fish and chips and v. Reasonably priced. We go everytime we visit.

Dinner - for Mexican La Chozia or Carlito Burrito are v good.
Meat Liquor fab burgers.
Japanese skewers - Bincho! But hard to get into.

Def stroll through the North Laines

Cafe Rust | Brighton

Beautiful cafe in the heart of the up and coming London Road area of Brighton.

As a Brightonian, I'm compelled to correct a couple of references on this thread (it's what we do) - there is the North Laine, and there are The Lanes. Laine is an old term for a meadow or field or open area at the foot of the Downs (according to Wiki). The North Laine is the bohemian/studenty part of the city, The Lanes are where the antique shops and expensive boutiques are. Going down North Street, The Lanes are to the right, the North Laine is to the left. Both are well worth exploring - but please allow me my Brightonian pedantry :)
