Why oh why oh why are corned beef tins so bloody fucking difficult to open. There must be an easier way… I’m abroad and can’t get the ready sliced stuff..

I love opening them. So satisfying. Don't try turning the ring on its own, put something through it like a narrow knife and use that to turn it OP, then it's a piece of piss.

Make sure you turn the key upside down

darkmodeon · 20/06/2023 20:42

Oh they are absolutely horrendous aren't they! And even when you've opened it then you have to try and get the beef out the tin!!

Pour boiling water over the tin. It sort of melts the fat and it slides right out.

I fancy a corned beef sandwich now 😋

Darnley · 20/06/2023 21:20

I gave up and spooned it out of the gap I had managed to make with the key. Resorted to brandy. Tis the only way. Trust me.

Flishflashfresh · 20/06/2023 21:47

What way do you serve/eat corned beef from a tin? Just because I’m going to have to go and buy some tomorrow now. Yum.

cassiatwenty · 20/06/2023 21:47

Watch out! Don't cut yourself by accident

user50316 · 20/06/2023 21:48

I bought a tin a couple of years ago that didn't have a key with it!!! Fuming.

Jellybean23 · 20/06/2023 21:49

Turn it upside down and use an ordinary tin opener?

Nice! I'll try it

In a sandwhich sliced thin. Or in corned beef hash.

Jellybean23 · 20/06/2023 21:55

Corned beef, egg and chips on a hot dinner plate so the corned beef melts. Mmmm
