Sweet smelling poo?

Nc for obvious reasons! Sounds weird, but recently my poo has a sort of very sweet, smell. Not particularly disgusting smelling, just distinctively sweet is the only way I can describe it. Has anyone else had this, and is it a sign of anything bad? The obvious answer to me would be eating a lot of sugar, but I really don't eat sugary foods day to day. Sometimes berries or an apple/pear with breakfast, and occasional chocolate at weekends. I'm vegetarian, eat lots of fish, veg, beans, nuts, lentils etc.

I feel like I'd sound insane to go to the GP because my poo suddenly smells sweet!

Check that it’s not your wee, as that can be diabetes.

I did read that it could be diabetes if your wee smells sweet but it's definitely not my wee

Hi I have the same thing, been going on over a year. It started a couple of months after I had covid. I've had all sorts of tests and nothing has been found but it really worries me

@Ditsyd I did have Covid a few months ago. Weird. Hopefully it's nothing serious!

Maybe it's your sense of smell rather than your actual pop? 🤔
