So I have been with my husband going on 16 years now, married for 6. We have had our ups and downs . We split last October. I asked for nothing from him even though he got a good inheritance. I didn't ask for any money or child maintenance. This meant that he had enough for a deposit to buy himself a house something he has always wanted to do and also bought himself a car. Because he wasn't paying maintenance and there was no child visiting officially written anywhere he was able to go down the no dependents route.
He bought a lovely 3 bedroom and we both discussed things and wanted to be a family again. Lots of love still there
MIl has demanded we get a post nup so I don't steal his house.
I have done so and paid for it myself but I'm actually quite upset as her and fil just assume I am with him for the house. I don't want his house I want him. I've never been in our relationship to gain anything from him and for her to act in such a lovely at is frustrating. She absolutely hates me anyway but I've promised to make an effort but now unsure how to go about it.
Am I right to feel upset or am I being stupid?
