Tummy Tuck consultation

TomAllenWife · 19/06/2023 18:19

Been for my consult now
Still undecided, cost, pain, being in bed for 2 weeks 😩
Is it pointless at nearly 50 when everything else is starting to sag & crinkle?

Anyone else considering?
Or completed their TT journey?

This is horrific. Also, "tummy tuck" - infantilising language to obscure a horrible, unnecessary procedure. Lose weight the usual way instead of damaging the one body you have for aesthetic purposes.

You don't understand the procedure if you think losing weight will help.

Op I had this two years ago and absolutely no regrets.

It's not unnecessary if your ab muscles have separated during pregnancy - resulting in an unsightly bulge and permanent back pain. Which can then be repaired. That's a tummy tuck.

If you think "just lose weight" is the answer to what a tummy tuck can correct then you're incredibly ignorant.

TheOwlChronicles · 24/06/2023 09:55

@WhyDontYouGoVegan you are unable to have a tummy tuck if you are overweight. Or rather, your BMI must be below 29 as a rule - so sadly, you're wrong in what you write.

Why not change your name to @whyDontILearnThingsFirstBeforeIPost ?

I lost about two stone before my surgery. Unfortunately losing weight didn't equate to losing the apron of skin that hung down to mid-thigh, and thats what I had the surgery for.

So yes, learning things before you post is certainly something to consider.

It’s not a weight loss procedure, most people only lose a couple of pounds from the procedure, it’s a skin reduction and muscle repair procedure. Why does it matter to you what other people do with their bodies?

One of the rudest and most ignorant posts. Also utterly ridiculous. Have a word with yourself.

I'm 61 and would absolutely do it but I can't afford it. Pregnancy at 21 left my belly a wrinkled saggy mess. I still hate it. The rest of me looks just fine.
If you think it will make you happier then do it.
