What the hell is this sprouting up side of my lemon tree?

Can anyone with horticultural expertise identify this- is this a mew lemon tree growing or some type of fungus or what?

Fungus. Some sort of mushroom (don’t even think about eating it!). Quite common for compost to contain some mushroom spores. Pull them out, throw away and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.

Yep completely agree. I repotted a plant a few weeks ago with a new bag of compost and around 6 of these popped up around a week later . Pull them out and destroy .
