Anyone know about the Cycle to work scheme- cancelling/returning bike

I ordered a bike via the cycle to work scheme (I work in the NHS so it’s via a third party company). The bike was delivered this morning and I have stupidly ordered the wrong size! It’s WAY too big for me I can’t even get on it.

I am gutted as promised DS a big bike ride tonight but it is what it is. I have emailed the company (they don’t accept phone calls for after sales) so just waiting on their response. I have checked the terms and conditions which say I can cancel within 14 days of order (it’s been 10 days since I ordered) but doesn’t say if this is after the bike has been delivered. Ideally I would want to return the bike and reorder the correct size.

Anyone have any experience of this? I know I’ve been an idiot

Oh actually I have checked and I placed the actual order 14 days ago!

Contact the HR team who administer staff benefits / the scheme. T&Cs about returns differ by provider. If the bicycle is unused then returns are usually possible, though the schemes I’ve participated in require you to pay for collection or return and an admin fee as the mistake was yours.

Ok thanks a lot! I have emailed the actual scheme as well (I had emailed the bike provider). I’ll see what they say

I expect it'll be the bike provider that you need to ask. If you ordered it online distance selling should come into it although an actual refund would be convoluted by the voucher/ tax implications. Sounds like you just want to exchange for a smaller size though?

Can you say which company? 👀
