Is powdered collagen worth it?

I'm interested in taking this, because I have heard that it's very good for your gut, for your overall health, and, eventually, for your skin. But...it's expensive and I have also read conflicting reports about its efficacy. If you take it, is it worth it? I'm looking at bovine collagen. Cheers!

It depends how you think about it. Is it a magical, mystical ingredient? No…. Will you benefit from having more protein in your diet? Yes. Will you benefit from drinking the water you have mixed with it? Also yes. Collagen is pure protein and It is hydrolysed (dehydrated and extremely finely ground.) It is also largely water soluble, so I drink a collagen supplement because whey protein powder gives me some antisocial side-effects. I find it psychologically easier and less filling than milk-based protein supplements too. I hope that helps.
