Writing a biography

Hi, I really want to give writing a go again, I have done it many years previously and I think I'm good enough with some guidance.

Has anyone ever done this? Any great tips or structures? X

Hi there B&W
I don't write much in this space but I did write a multiple person biography once. (Biography is someone else's life). I like the type of memoir where you feel immersed in the scenes of their life and it is going somewhere. That is because the author had an idea of taking these turning points of life and telling a bigger story with it. Hopefully you get what I mean. An example is Defiant by Janine Shepherd.

'Bounce Forward' by Sam Cawthorn mixes memoir and self-help, which is a favourite technique that one of my writing clients did as well, when I was their editor. (Examples are Australian).

A compelling story is one where the stakes are high, so are the obstacles, and the tenacity and strength of the person shines through.
