Vinted - how long to wait?

I paid for something 8 days ago. It has a evri number (seller has bought the postage presumably), but it hasn't been dispatched yet. I emailed the seller yesterday, but she hasn't replied. On eBay there's usually an estimate of how long it'll take to get the goods. Is there the same on Vinted? (I'm new to this). What do I do next?

I think if you check terms and conditions sellers have 7 days to post from when the item is purchased ( the postage is automatically bought). Obviously once posted it can take some time to arrive.

If it hasn’t been posted soon the sale will automatically be cancelled.

Pressed post too soon, sorry.

If it’s cancelled the seller will automatically get negative feedback. Your money will immediately be refunded.

I've sold items today, this is my first time using Vinted. Both buyers bought postage and I've just read the instructions for taking them to lockers. I think then once the labels are scanned the parcels are tracked by both parties. I'm impressed with the set up. It stated I had 5 working days to send the goods. That rubbish the seller hasn't replied to your message!

Ah ok thanks. So I don't need to do anything. That's a pretty good system!

Hi, could I ask a Vinted question please as I’m new to it in the past couple of weeks. I advertised an item at £12 and a buyer messaged asking if I’d agree to £10. I agreed and after 48hrs I received another messsage asking if I would be willing to reserve the item for them for another 10 days. Is that normal practice? I haven’t replied yet but I’m guessing they’re not going to pay up in the meantime. What if I agree to hold onto it and someone else makes a firm offer in meantime?

If you want to be nice, you can hold it for them but no they won’t pay in the meantime.

I’ve had a few people say, ‘I get paid next week, pls can you hold it for me until then?’ and I’ll either say yes or no depending on how popular the item is. It’s up to you

Thanks for your reply. I’ll agree to hold it for them and see how it goes. If they vanish into thin air I’ll think twice if the same situation arises again.

I’m pretty nice but I wouldn’t hold it. They’re under no obligation to buy it from you after 10 days. I occasionally hold things for a short time (1-2 days) but 10 days for a discount is taking the piss. If nobody else buys it in the meantime then they’ll still be able to purchase it for the price agreed. But if you put it on hold the detriment is all yours, and there’s no potential benefit for you.

A reserve will last 5 days so you will need to do this twice. I wouldn’t reserve it for 10 days to be honest. If it’s still there in 10 days agree to the discounted price but if it’s priced well you will probably get full price before those 10 days. Once you’ve sent an item it takes a few days for the money to reach you. So with a 10 day wait you could be looking at getting that money in 3-4 weeks, depending on when you manage to post it (you have 5 working days from them buying to get it posted).
