I went to one of his 25 concerts and he was clearly unwell with a very heavy cold. He still belted them out and was Amazing.

Years ago when I lived in North London I was crossing the quiet circular road between Primrose Hill and the zoo. He was crossing the other way and my jaw dropped as I starred at him star-struck. As he crossed by he turned his head to mirror mine, jaw dropped surprised and said "Oh my god......It's you!" then he laughed warmly and carried on walking into the park. Awesome sense of humour and so grounded in real life.

Watched the Wham! documentary last night. Really good. So nice to hear his voice again, just talking. And to see how much he needed Andrew Ridgeley

Yes I watched it too. Andrew comes over as such a nice flgood friend and generally a selfless person. Watched Graham Norton interview Andrew and Shirley too. He came over nice there too.

I cried and cried that Christmas Day 😢

Me too. I was up late and alone when the news broke, just so gutted. Then we went the the panto the next day and the cast sang Last Christmas, I howled! Really really miss him still, what a beautiful gift he was 💔

Is anyone watching WHAM! Night on bbc2? Still so missed😞

GoodGollyMsMolly · 14/12/2024 22:07

I didn't appreciate him when he was alive but I did after he's gone. And despite his issues, he was a good person who did many kind acts quietly.

Watching now, never grows old.

To think George was only in his early 20s when he wrote some of his songs, that’s pretty amazing.

EachandEveryone · 14/12/2024 22:16

And even younger. I think I saw him four times twice with Wham! When I was 15/16. We saw so many good bands £15 a pop that year. I can’t think of any other times like it. Perhaps britpop when there was loads of good live music around.
