What’s Happening In Your House?

I did one of these threads yesterday but I need cheering up. My leg is infected from a horsefly bite & I’ve really struggled this week. Spent this afternoon with my leg elevated instead of having a pub lunch in the sun with my lovely friend who I haven’t seen since February. Did manage an Asda shop late morning. I do get annoyed in there as none of the cashiers ever ask if you have the cash pot app or whatever it’s called whereas Tescos staff always ask if you have a Clubcard. I mentioned to the lady that I had the app then she started scanning my shopping. I showed her my phone at the end & she said “ You have to do that first”. I felt like retorting “ Well why didn’t you bloody tell me that before?!” I spent nearly £100 so it would have been well worth doing. Wish I’d bought some chocolate but just remembered that I have some Ferrero Rocher upstairs that I hid from DD14!
DH has been working today. He bought dressings & bandages for me during his lunch break & is doing everything apart from tea as we’re only having ready meals ( Asda curries) with naan. He’s been a star all week.
DD14 is very up & down as per. We ended up having an argument as she is saying she doesn’t want tutors anymore ( she’s doing English, maths & science for GCSE & has been de - registered from school). It might be a reaction as her girlfriend isn’t very well. She lives some distance away. I won’t cancel the tutors for now. I was actually quite proud of myself as I managed not to lose it & said we can talk about it when we’re both calmer. DD14 can be very volatile.
One of my oldest friends popped round with roses & a card which was a lovely surprise.
Not sure what we’re watching tonight. I borrowed “ Fishermans Friends” on dvd from a colleague but not sure it’s DH’s thing. We’re still ploughing through Greys Anatomy & have reached season 10.

My husband, his friend and our son are still cheering at Scotland winning their match. I'm hiding in
The kitchen with a fruit cider 😁

My kids are both upstairs. I am procrastinating because the house is a tip even though I cleaned the entire house yesterday.

I am tired, miserable, and fed up with cleaning.

My sister is coming for a hair cut later and bringing vodka so that's a plus.

Frequency make sure you play hairdressers before you open the bottle!

@Sunnydaysareuponus I learned that lesson when I decided that testing the sharpness of my hairdressing scissors by running my finger down the edge of them was a good idea after half a bottle of wine.

Turns out they were sharp. I still have the scar to prove it.

My toddler ds once tested dh's beard trimmer out.. Sat behind a curtain.
His got his first buzz cut that evening...
Salon all the way here!

Not long home from work and eaten dinner. I'm waiting for DP to finish the dishes so I can fill the bucket to water my plants outside. Adult DS is in the shower so I assume he's going out.
We're going to start a jigsaw shortly, usually do 1000 pieces which we finish over a couple of nights or so. It's that or Scrabble but I usually win so now he imposes a handicap 😆

Relaxing in the garden with a glass or two of wine after a busy day at work, DH has cooked dinner, not my favourite but I am trying to be gracious about it. I know everyone raves about cooked from scratch meals on Mumsnet but what I would love is a really nice pizza Grin.
