Not poo troll I cant even be bothered to name change.
Driving home from supermarket and I started with urgent cramps, they went away then returned and I couldn't stop what happened next.
Got home threw clothes and shoes away, dh was in the garden thankfully so didn't witness any of it.
It's never happened while driving before I'm mortified.
I dont want anyone else's stories of shitting themselves btw I just want solidarity.
Definitely on the wine later.

A radar key is one of those disability toilet keys you can get for using the disabled toilets that have a lock on.

If you go to your local council they can supply you with one. They cost £3.00. Or they did. They probably more than that now.

It makes such a difference having the space and safety of being able to see to yourself in private

Thank you Keffie

OP have you been tested for IBD?

PrincessHoneysuckle · 18/06/2023 08:02

@Summerishereagain no I don't get episodes like this very often thankfully.I get pain and bloating mainly but if I have too much caffeine it really effects me

I'm so sorry. I've been there, multiple times. Often when supermarket shopping (don't ask me why!!).
Turns out my issue wasn't ibs though. After years and years of it, I was finally diagnosed with pancreatic enzyme insufficiency so I now have to take Creon with every thing I eat. Life is much better now, but I forgot to take it when I was at the beach the other day Hmm You know the rest of the story....

A couple of issues like this was enough for my DH to go back to the GP and be put on the pathway with lead him to be diagnosed with IBD. Prompt diagnosis meant he started treatment before there was too much damage.

This is awful. I have similar issues with bowel control though nothing diagnosed. When we moved the criteria included ground floor loo and another somewhere else (as it happens we've 3 - 1 each and a spare)
I know next to nothing about these conditions and this is a genuine question - is Imodium available for these conditions? There are very discreet incontinence pads available - not exactly trendy but surely better than the alternative. They don't have to thick and chunky but would help knowing you could get to a loo.

LaPerduta · 18/06/2023 12:11

Imodium (or Loperimide, which I think is the generic name) is available, but I try not to take it too often as I end up with the opposite problem.

My worst attack started while traveling home one evening. I made it to the supermarket. One of the ladies' loos was engaged, the other was out of order. In desperation I tried the men's, but that was occupied too. I still feel angry and embarrassed about that experience and don't know whether anyone noticed but it's likely as I had to walk home and was wearing shorts.

Fucking awful condition.

You shouldn't have the wine. You need to be gentle with your gut. Big family history of bowel cancer here,so first attack, which was awful, scans, colonoscopy.diagnosed IBS I was bullied by the nurse in charge, that's what started it. Have to try and stay calm, and "anti inflammatory diet". 10 years ago I was diagnosed with diverticulosis, and recently, following 12 days of hell ... symptoms at least monthly since last November, wait for it: Mesenteric fat stranding, yup, me neither. My lovely flat stomach is now all bunchy and bloated in the middle. Also found a tumour in the adrenal gland on the scan, and liver "spots", see the endo consultant Wednesday. And yes, shit myself! Wearing white jeans!!! Luckily I had a trench coat down to my knees. I found a weird trigger. Hot chocolate and Welsh rarebit. I had it a couple of times, needed the toilet after about 15 minutes, thought it was a fluke. 3rd time, with DH went into local store, bought wipes, run to library, toilet out of order😠. Station they are now on the platform, you can only use them with train ticket. Into shopping mall, for a clear up. Almost did when wearing white shorts! Weird, if I have cold drink or tea, nothing happened. No,you can't take imodium with IBS, because sometimes you get constipated anyway. now as well as all the gut stuff, I have a bladder prolapse, gut presses on bladder, bladder pressures on gut. You get the picture

Deathraystare · 18/06/2023 15:22

I do not have IBS but am a martyr to my bladder but have had some embarrassing poo moments too.

On a tube to get an overhead train (why I don't know, I usually get the bus) down to Kent to my Brothers I felt the tell tale signs of "I am going to poo right now and you cannot stop me!", I got to Waterloo station and found that the loos were quite far away which gave me time to get some diarrhoea tablets, those big baby wipes and dash in the loo to clean up. Amazingly no marks on my jeans. Thankfully being incontinent I had large pads and pants with me. Phew! It was awful and absolutely stank!
