Hellmans mayonnaise

Has hellmans mayonnaise changed their recipe? Just made a tuna salad and the new mayonnaise ( in date) I bought tastes very oily and awful. It even looks more shiny than it used to (if you know what I mean). It is the jar type.

Just me then 😀

I know what you mean. I have switched to WINARY. It's a Polish one but avail in most major supermarkets. Far superior in my opinion.

Yes, I've noticed this too. I thought it was because of the squeezey bottle but bought it in the glass jar and still tasted of. Very disappointed.

Sorry spelt the name wrong. It's WINIARY Mayonnaise

Mollypolly2610 · 17/06/2023 17:43

I find it runny and oily now and never buy it anymore.

I've always preferred Heinz mayonnaise, nicer taste.

Pixiedust1234 · 17/06/2023 18:30

DD prefers the Aldi mayonnaise, I think it's Bramwells. She eats it by the spoonful 😳

RabbitsRock · 17/06/2023 18:33

I love mayonnaise - can’t say I’ve noticed any difference. Tried the Heinz but I didn’t like it as much. Perhaps I’ll try the Aldi one as some of the other Bramwell products are nice & reasonably priced.

Chaoticserenity · 17/06/2023 18:37

Sainsbury’s own brand mayonnaise is gorgeous, tastes the way Hellman's used to taste, thick and creamy and yum....and only £1.20 for a 500ml jar too 🤪

ChocAuVin · 17/06/2023 20:11

My DD rejected the Hellmans I bought recently in favour of Coop own brand citing similar reasons.

Murpe · 17/06/2023 20:14

This is disappointing, I just bought my first jar in ages - why do manufacturers keep arseing around with things?! Having to bin my most recent Marmite too, that's a weirdly sticky texture now. Leave stuff alone!

WouldYouLikeYourMuffinButtered · 18/06/2023 15:57

I also rate Winiary Majonaise.

Rubyupbeat · 18/06/2023 16:22

Hellmans vegan mayo is lovely, the original taste and texture, we use as we are vegan but friends and family have started to use it too, as like you, they say the flavour and texture of the original is unpleasant.

WhatADrabCarpet · 18/06/2023 16:54

Yep...Winiary Majonez

DeathMetalMum · 18/06/2023 17:04

We get aldis bramwell mayo. Have tried the polish one but found it rather mustardy or peppery can't quite remember.

1AnotherOne · 18/06/2023 17:06

Definitely the winiary one or if not I like the M&S own brand one

TonTonMacoute · 18/06/2023 17:50

We tried the Polish one and found it to be very, very sweet. Most odd and disappointing.

The French Benedicta mayo is nice but expensive - if you can find it.
Don’t have an Aldi near us unfortunately.

TerfIngOnTheBeach · 18/06/2023 17:51

I switched to Heinz a couple of years ago, much prefer it.

LightDrizzle · 18/06/2023 17:52

I’ve noticed this! Such a shame.
