Little thing ran out into the road so I dashed out and stopped the car, brought it home and put my dogs harness and lead on been walking it for a hour or so looking for it’s owner, posted onto social media and no one seems to be missing him, dog warden not open until 11am tomorrow, poor Little thing is starving 😞 I’ve fed him and gave him water and he’s cuddled up asleep for now but I feel awful my (girl) dog I’ve had to shut away in the kitchen for tonight as he kept trying to hump her.

Vet in the morning so he can be scanned for a chip.

I hope he finds his home soon, and well done for taking him in.

spiderlight · 17/06/2023 00:41

Thank you for keeping him safe. Hope he's soon reunited.

Gobbledygoo · 17/06/2023 00:43

I’m working tomorrow from 7-4 so I’m trying to find a vets that’s open from 6am but awkward as I don’t drive either but hopefully he’ll find his way home 🤗

Ah look at his shaggy little face!

Can you say which part of the county you're in? People might be able to suggest somewhere.

I’m in East Yorkshire I rang the council and they told me to ring dog warden, dog warden said not open until Monday and ring non emergency police, and 101 they said they don’t take in dogs so he’s just chilling here till I can work out what to do with him. Surely someone’s missing him 😔

Aw, he looks well looked after.
Give social media another try tomorrow. Try local lost pet sites, and any community groups too.

SixOClock · 17/06/2023 00:56

Have you posted on your social media or that of lost pets? Poor dog.

lemonchiffonpie · 17/06/2023 00:59

Print up posters and tape them to local telegraph poles near where you found him. That breed is often an older person's dog, and they many not use social media. The humping is a dominance ritual, not sexual.

Gobbledygoo · 17/06/2023 01:02

Yes I’ve posted on my social media and joined the neighbourhood groups and posted there as well. I knocked on all the doors we saw on our walk with gates open to see if he’s got out from anywhere but no one in the surrounding streets recognised him.

Sad to think someone's worrying about him tonight.

Floralnomad · 17/06/2023 01:34

Put him on Doglost on the found dogs page and check the lost dog page to see if he’s on there

Aerin1999 · 17/06/2023 01:36

Do you secretly want to keep him??

TyneTeas · 17/06/2023 02:22

Well done OP. Ddog is lucky to have found you.

JeandeServiette · 17/06/2023 07:23

Any luck OP?

Smartnugget · 17/06/2023 07:25

Thing is he could be stolen from miles away and then just abandoned. Hopefully he has a chip and that can be scanned at the vets.

MissyB1 · 17/06/2023 07:26

Yes best bet is that he’s hopefully microchipped. He’s gorgeous, someone will be missing him.

wizzler · 17/06/2023 07:32

He looks very happy you found him op

Gobbledygoo · 17/06/2023 08:21

I’ve took him to the vets, he’s has a microchip but not up to date, they’ve said he will still there until Monday and then the dog warden will come and collect him try and reunite with owner and if no luck will go to a shelter 😔
she did say oh hello you when I took him in and said he’s in often, dog warden takes him home and a couple of weeks later he’s back.

Oh, gosh, that's sad. Poor little fella.

Sunnydaysareuponus · 17/06/2023 08:47

They have to pay to reclaim. I reckon this time they won't bother
Congratulations on your new ddog op
