Am looking for a Spanish word that sounds like a name, that has a nice meaning that could be a name for a dog!

Any ideas please?

Sombra is nice, means shade
I know a German Shepherd called this.

Was just coming on to say Bonito and saw somebody beat me to it.

Or Ella, pronounced Ell-ya

Following this advice is the equivalent of a German speaker asking for dog names in English and being told “she (pronounced shay)” is a great choice. Charming.

Surely there is a name that has more of a connection with you than a list of odd suggestions that some are recommending without even being able to pronounce them?

Osito (little bear or teddy bear) would be very cute.

This is what the breeder had been calling her!

Or maybe just Osa which I think means bear.

drspouse · 17/06/2023 18:36

Osa is a female bear.

I've met two Spanish podencos where I live- one was called Tio and the other Tia. Not the same owner. Basically means 'mate' or uncle and aunt.
