Blazers hot weather

Why ar schools allowed to make children wear blazers when it's a very hot day. (Sometimes) they can remove it with permission. But the teacher Sometimes says no or tells children to put them on. The teachers themselves do not wear blazers and wear clothing suitable for the weather.

I myself have not been able to handle the heat and its made me feel ill. So why is it ok to make kids so uncomfortable.

As rules are rules and it's school (which I don't agree on and they can't be flexible) Yes I've had discussions with teachers / head - both mine came out in wool blazers today and a hat looked a billion degrees / like a tomato. Completely stupid. Yes the teachers in cotton shorts and a T shirt - I bet it would be a different rule if the teachers had to wear wool blazers! They wouldn't have to wear them!

So frustrating for the children 😭 sometimes I wonder about teachers .....

Because Britain is bizarre, no one is expected to use common sense and it’s paramount ( apparently) that children must look identical while in school, going to school etc.. Other countries don’t have this rigidity and the kids seem to grow up just fine.

This school rule is the one I really can’t be ok with. The head at my child’s school told the kids they must wear blazers to look smart. 🙄 As if a shirt and tie doesn’t look smart?

Most teachers are very reasonable and tell the kids straight away to take their blazers off in lessons if they want to, but a small minority seem to enjoy the power trip of making them keep them on which is worrying. A lot of classrooms don’t even have a fan.

Glad the school I work in and the one my DC go to have taken a more sensible approach.

Both schools have strict uniform rules but emails have gone home saying no blazers and ties are needed while the weather is as hot as it is at the moment.
