Child benefit - child staying at school but not doing qualifications

Just a quick one as I have googled but cannot find the answer and have given up trying to phone the helpline after half an hour and getting cut off.

DS is 16 and in year 11. He is in a special school and has another 2 years left.

The form asks if he is staying in FT education, which he is, but also asks about qualifications, but I am not sure what he is taking, possibly functional skills. Can I put that on the form?

What I mean is that he may not be able to complete functional skills, so he may end up leaving with no qualifications at all.

Yes just put Functional Skills

I put the name of the school on the form and then wrote it was a special needs school that didn’t do GCSEs/A-levels. I also supplied the phone number of the school in case they wanted to check.

I was in the same situation, I put Functional Skills certificates (specialist provision, special school). Along with the school/college details. It was fine.

Thank you.
