Relief at going off sick

i had a bad cough. I managed just about. Today I couldn’t and took leave due to it. Difficult for employer, not a good time(but not a vital service). I began to feel better within about an hour relaxing/in bed (could have worked?) . Feel guilty, and a bit confused.

Has this happened to anyone else for a physical illness? (I’ve experienced depression and that seems more understandable relief of not dealing with people).

I had it once when I was dreading seeing my sister. First meet up after a big argument. She was supposed to be coming to stay for a night but I felt really unwell with a sore throat & temperature so had to cancel.
Am hour later I felt 100% fine - throat pain free & temperature normal. My illness was genuine but somehow psychological I feel.
