Just a rant really this morning.
I'm with Now TV for my broadband and got up this morning and my broadband wasn't working, logged on to my online account to see why and to find out that my services are being cancelled and to ring them to prevent this happening...... Checked the bank account and everything has been paid so no clue what's happening, gave them a ring.
Apparently 'someone else' has cancelled their service but a wrong digit has been used, leading to my service being cancelled.....? No communication from Now TV to me about a cancellation and I certainly haven't cancelled it - and they can't tell me why they've apparently allowed someone else to effectively cancel my services, not communicated anything to me about it and gone ahead and cancelled it.
The cancellation cannot be reversed because it's past the point of no return so I've now no broadband until the cancellation is fully processed.
I was out of contract with them and had been for about 2 years, but continued on the same plan and had actually received an email yesterday about a price increase - but nothing about my service being cancelled. It said I can sign back onto a contract or carry on as I am, same as every year since my contract ended and as it's no cheaper in contract I've carried on as I was without a problem. No mention in the email about cancellation.
So now once the service cancellation is fully processed (and I have to give it at least 24 hours but it could be up to 4 days, I have to guess when it's done) I can ring back and sign up to a new plan, but they can't tell me what terms or price that will be because I'll then be a 'returning' customer so I'll be offered what's available on the day.
The rep on the phone was really helpful and tried to sort it out, but ultimately couldn't so I'm left with ringing them on the off chance and then signing up to a new contract and probably paying more, because they allowed someone else to cancel my services, or a mistake was made and they've cancelled the wrong service - and no one thought to contact me at all.
I mean worse things happen at sea but I'm concerned about the security of it to be honest, if my service can be cancelled like that, then can stuff be added to without my knowledge or permission?! And I find out when I'm paying for it?! They didn't really have an answer for that.
And to top it off my mobile signal is crap at home 🙄 so mobile internet is patchy.
Gonna be looking elsewhere I think!
