Card for neighbour with terminal Illness

we live in a cul de sac where we don’t really know any of the neighbours more than to say hi and smile. Only been here a few months and it’s temporary. Neighbours wife told us yesterday that he is terminally ill. It’s terrible, and so sad. I’d like to pop a card through their door but no idea what to say in it…what would you write to someone you have said about 5 words to before?!

" We're just down the road at number 12, our phone number is XYZ. Please don't hesitate to call if you need any help with shopping/a lift to hospital/ walking the dog. Or anything else we can do.
Kind wishes from your neighbour potnoodle.

This is a nice one.

You could also put out their bins and put them back (on bin day, not just randomly).

Thanks! Sorry should also have mentioned we’re moving next month (as currently renting)

Hmm, I'm not sure I'd do anything then if you hardly know them and are not going to be around much longer. I would have found that a bit intrusive I think. But everyone handles these things differently

The sentiment is lovely, but if you don't know them and you're about to leave, I'm not sure a card would be appropriate, as I'm not sure what you can say (i.e. you can't offer any help). I've never known a "sorry you have terminal illness" type card before, sadly just sympathy cards when someone passes away.

In the card op can say, we are moving away at the end of June.

It seems callous to hear a person's devastating news then just give zero response.
