Glenda Jackson RIP. One of that amazing cohort of women actors that the UK produced in the last part of the 20 th century, now sadly diminishing in number.

And a politician too, amazing woman.

I was so sad to read this just now. She was a fantastic actress and formidable politician.

Agree that she is one of a dying generation of incredibly talented women who just wanted to be known for their acting ability, not fame or glamour.

RIP Glenda.

Rest in peace Dame Glenda xx

One of the best actors ever, someone who walked the walk again and again and who made a triumphant return to the stage in the last stage of her career winning her first Tony award at age 82 - wow!

Oh dear, I hadn’t heard. One of those people I thought would be around forever. Such a talent in many ways.

Just seen this on yahoo news, and was about to post it.

R.I.P. Glenda Jackson. 🌹

Feel sad too about this news.
For me being nearly sixty, Glenda had an amazing balance between being completely professional in her roles as actor and politician, but also standing up to her values and especially when she was older, not being pushed around and seemingly not giving a fxxk and not apologising for existing and respresenting those values.

Something I would like to aspire to.

She used to be my MP, and she was great. So helpful the couple of times I needed her help and very much against any injustice.

Sorry to hear of her passing.

RIP Glenda . A fantastic actress who didn’t give a monkey what others thought
