Do you think people can pass judgement even when they're not exceptional human beings?

I have a friend cheated (sexting) on their spouse, and wasted money on an addiction for years. They're working on it sommore power to them, however it was definitely shitty behaviour.

I on the other hand I'm part of a few shaming groups on FB, for the most part I just have a giggle, but don't post much myself. One day she saw one of my posts (screenshot of another person) and told me how disgusting it was, that it was bullying, etc... Which is fine I agree, but IMO has not moral standing to pass such a judgement.

What stands out is she has rectified her behaviour...

I wouldn't think much of someone who is in a shaming group. People make mistakes - and I also wouldn't judge someone for an addiction.

All of the changes have been out if ultimatums. She blew.out around £20k on male strippers.

Shaming groups can be funny, especially the one about incorrectly correcting people

I hope she does! I gave her money to get out of her "troubles" before I figured out it was on strippers. She still acts selfishly here and there. I to her own admission I'm very selfless. I guess she would say that considering I partially funded her thing.

How about you spend a bit more time focusing on why you feel the need to get your kicks by ganging up with others to shame people from behind a computer screen, and a little less on whether she had 'the right' to tell you what you already know to be true?

All of us judge, whether overtly or covertly. Most keep it to themselves, unless they have an agenda, which I think the OP does.
