My Tassimo machine isn't working

😢 I don't use it very often & it seems to not want to read the barcodes on the pods I wanted to use. The Tassimo website said clean the barcode reader & smooth out the barcode so I did, still nothing.

Normal coffee before the girls get in it is then!

Ours gets scaled up as we live in a hard water area any possibility this could be the problem?

Oh, maybe actually, I didn't think of that. The red light's not on though, just the orange one.

I've just got rid of mine, hated it so much I gave it away on the local fb site.
More trouble than it's worth.
I replaced it with a dolce gusto, it's fab

Try a descale anyway
They do market descaling tablets especially for them but I used citric acid
I got rid of it as it was so " needy"

I gave up on it for today, may descale it tomorrow at some point. It seems to do this every time I decide I fancy a (posher than my usual Tesco Value) nice cup of coffee 🙄. I had it in my head to sit at my new garden table & watch the birds flitting about the garden but never mind 🤷‍♀️

It does it when I put the pod in after turning it on too. I even tried a different pod to make sure it wasn't just a dodgy one I'd got out 🤷‍♀️ I'll try again tomorrow, if not it's no great loss - it was second hand & we don't use it masses.

I had the same problem a few years go and it was the bar code reader. Might be worth trying to clean it again?

I figured it out - it was the button that presses, to make it read the barcode, when the lid closes! I'm running descaler through it now (citric acid rather than the £££ tablets, as you suggested @uncomfortablydumb53 , good call!).

I'll be off out to enjoy my coffee when that's done 🙂

There's a little robin who quite often sits fairly close while I'm out there and a pair of wood pigeons who live in the big sycamore.
