Smear test result — high risk HPV negative

Just had my smear test result letter through the post and it says I am high risk HPV negative but it doesn’t explain what this means. Does it mean I am currently negative but have a high risk of being positive in the future?

I think it's means you tested negative FOR high risk HPV x

Come to think of it I think you might be right. It does go on to say that I can just continue having them every three years going forward.
