When to get to the stadium to see Artic Monkeys

Dd is going to Artic Monkeys tomorrow at the Ageas Bowl in So'ton - she and her friend have standing tickets. Doors open at 5pm, there are two support bands and I think Artic Monkeys will be on at 20.30. She's not fussed about support bands but thinks she needs to get there for 5 pm to 'get a good spot' and because she thinks if you arrive 'late' they will close the doors and not allow entry (she is autistic and can be a bit rigid in her thinking). However I suspect that she and her friend will be bored senseless if they arrive 3.5 hours before the headliner!

What's a sensible time to turn up - those of you who are regulars at watching bands?

We got there at about 7.30 last night in Swansea and it worked well for us. The Hives (2nd support act) were about half way through their set.

We had seats though, so didn't need to worry about getting a good spot. DD was saying that she'd plan to get there earlier if she was standing, but probably not earlier than 6.30ish.

The band's set started at 8.50 and finished at 10.30. it was great!

Unless she wants to get right to the front, in which case she’ll probably need to be there even earlier waiting at the front of the queue, there’s not much point getting there too early. Around 6:30/7 is what I generally go for.

I don't think she wants front row - would find that a bit overwhelming. I'll feedback to her - cheers both
