What have you got planned for the DC during the summer holidays?

I've managed to get some KidsWeek theatre tickets today for me and the DC to see Matilda and we have a week at a caravan in the UK booked with friends.

I quite fancy planning some other special day trips but I'm not sure what this year. They are both young secondary age so perhaps things like Go Ape or a really decent swimming pool. Would love to hear your plans.

Sounds good, @PleaseYourselfandEatTheCrusts

All our local attractions I feel we've done to death but some of the museums may have new exhibitions on

I'm off for 3 of the 6 weeks.

We're away for 10 days at the start.

Other than that no plans. We'll see how the weather is. We're London based so plenty of options and stuff to do come rain or shine.

Relocating for the summer to our static caravan near family and the coast. I can WFH so will work there and DC will spend time with cousins/grandparents etc. A couple of days in holiday club and a few with a babysitter. Days off and evenings will be likely to be at the beach/park, out for walks, cycling, swimming. The activities we do in the holidays generally aren’t costly and the caravan was money well spent when it comes to school holidays and the ability to share childcare with extended family.

A fortnight in Netherlands.
A few different camps spread over the holidays - only half day. - swimming, gymnastics, forest school.
Exploring a couple of big parks and nature reserves nearby - moved house six months ago so not had the chance to properly explore.
Zoo once a week as we got a membership this year.
London stuff- theatre shows, tourist attractions, museums, galleries.
Bucket lists of certain types of trips out where we haven't been before - different swimming pools, playgrounds, soft play.
Day trips - seaside, Legoland, Kew Gardens, NT properties, a city day trip.
Were in London so lots to do - I need to set up my Google calendar so I can keep up with all the various events on offer.

Three weeks camping, a few days at grandparents and a couple of exhibitions.

Plus whatever they arrange that I need to act as taxi for!

We are currently on holiday and DC are in surf school each afternoon.

DD1 is going to fencing camp next week then residential Cub camp the week after that. DD2 has sibling support days at the local Autism charity.

Just days out other than that - some craft sessions at the Art Gallery, a river kayak day, some therapy sessions with the local Young Minds charity and a theatre trip to see The Secret Garden.

Summer Reading Challenge at the library plus this year's Blue Peter Sports badge.

DD1 is trying to tick off the Scouts 60 Days of Summer challenge and DD2 is aiming to complete the Girlguiding Scotland Out and About Challenge. We need to visit the Buddhist temple in Dumfries to finish DD1's World Faith Cubs badge.

Back to school on Wed 16th August and then roll on the Edinburgh Book Festival!

Grade 5 theory intensive course for a week. Guys and Dolls and La Boheme. Two weeks away, some swimming lessons and a trip to see my mother. The rest of the time at home with her dad, probably spending too much time online.
