How do you manage body odour and what material clothes do you choose?

Just that really.

My BO can be bad at times which can transport onto clothes and so I feel like I'm constantly trying to search for clothes that are less likely to stink.

What do you do to manage your BO and do you have any tips on washing your clothes?

Drink 2 lites of water a day to flush out toxins
cut back alcohol
wash with bar of soap twice a day
change underwear every day
wear clean clothing everyday
use a exfoliate glove under arm everyday
shave underarm every day

Thanks for this. I am a bad drinker.. need to up my water intake.

I’m a heavy sweater and if I don’t clean up BO is bad.

make sure to wash your back and under boobs well too

Ah yes funny how I sometimes smell from around my boobs rather than armpits. Going to use dettol soap all over from now on 👍

Mitchum unperfumed roll on

Wash bits and pits with soap and warm water twice a day (if you’ve sweated all day don’t go to bed stinking)

If the tops are a problem could you soak them overnight or put them to the front of the washing ‘queue’

In hot weather wear loose (a size bigger) heavyweight linen and cotton, am wearing a linen top today and it doesn’t cling to armpits so the sweat evaporates a bit instead of sticking to the clothes.

CoQ10 · 13/06/2023 21:30

Lathered soap on a flannel and wash both armpits in the shower. I never use shower gel as it's ineffective for washing.

DustyLee123 · 13/06/2023 21:31

I now use men’s deodorant.

DustyLee123 · 13/06/2023 21:32

I put Asda’s liquid talk under my boobs. Stops the cheesy smell.

Noicant · 13/06/2023 21:41

I use soap for pits and bits (including under boob) and a moisturising shower gel everywhere else. Shaved armpits and wait till they are full dry after morning shower before applying anti perspirant. Cotton/linen clothes.

Bearpawk · 13/06/2023 21:42

Mitchum deodorant
Bar soap (not dove, actual soap)
Laundry anti bad gel of clothes stinky

Noicant · 13/06/2023 21:44

I use nesti dante soap, I made the mistake of buying dove and it’s basically just cream.

Rainbowshit · 13/06/2023 23:28

I'm surprised that some are saying men's anti perspirant is better. DH and I both use Sure and occasionally I use his if I have run out and it's awful.

Thanks everyone. I will also get a dettol antibacterial soap for showering.

@stardust777 's post has got me thinking.. would exfoliating your armpits be effective? Thinking cheap exfoliator like Simple.

@colouringindoors you're most welcome! Hope it gets sorted for you.

Yes, I exfoliate my under arms before I shave. Give a better finish, feels cleaner, stay fresher.
I only use mitchum spray or the stick, I don't like roll on.
I use bar soap as well and Dettol antibacterial in my washing machine.
Works for me and I'm a perimenopausal woman who's over weight wearing a polyester uniform all day with thick trousers and steel toe boots. Oh and today my ambulance had no air con, I assisted to carry a 14 stone man up stairs and I was sweating like mad but still don't smell!

@DustyLee123 liquid talk usually happens during a night out! 😀

Hi all, I'm just here to say the combination of dettol soap and Mitchum roll on have done wonders and my life is completely transformed. I'm no longer scared of wearing synthetic material and am able to wear whatever I fancy.

So bloody happy thanks to you wonderful people so a big THANK YOU!!!
