Counselling, what to expect?

I have my first counselling session this morning, I've not been dealing with things on my own and realised a few weeks ago that I probably needed to ask for some help, so I did, and now I'm really not sure what I want to say. For anyone else who has had counselling, how did it go? Did it help?

It helps immensely!

Just relax and don’t put pressure on yourself to say the “right” thing.

Maybe talk about the things that are bothering you most at the moment - not all but maybe 1 or 2.

The conversations tend to be quite organic.

Leave yourself some time to decompress after the session.

Best of luck.

Thanks @HelpMeUnpickThis I found it really helpful to be able to tell her some stuff that I just don't want to share with friends and or family. I'm really hoping that I get some benefit from this process
