Recommend a fan or some sort of cooler for my sons box room which gets really hot in the summer?

We try and keep the curtains closed in the day and open them, and the window, in the evening but it's difficult to get any airflow.
It's a box room so ideally not something too big.
Probably willing to spend up to £100.
Ideally something with a timer so it switches off after she falls asleep.
Any thoughts?
TIA

I should have said it needs to be quiet as well.

Hiya, how old is he? I don't want to recc a meaco, for example, if there's a chance he might joggle it and tip it over...

He's 14, almost 15

We have a pillar fan which we use on the hottest days but I have to say it doesn’t seem to do a lot as the air is still hot at bedtime so it’s just moving hot air around. Perhaps we would have been better buying a portable air con unit, they were very pricey then but cheaper now.

One thing to mention is that the noise has never stopped either of mine sleeping (they are tricky sleepers) - it’s like white noise.

A different idea in case it helps - I give mine a freezer block inside a pillow case to have in bed with them, this really seems to help them get to sleep.

A dyson fan the small one - or I don't know how your set up is but opening the loft hatch as really helped the most as the hot air just gets sucked up there!
