First time at a Wembley gig - tips please

Going to wembley next week watching Harry styles. Excited. Never been to Wembley.
However I'm a little nervous about crowds and queues.
Can anyone advise on these small anxieties:

  • we got seats. Can you easily get to toilets or is there like an hour queue everytime?
  • can you take your own soft drinks in? If not is it massive queues to get a drink?
  • I've booked a hotel near the stadium so we can walk to it but heard stories of it taking 2hrs to even get out of the stadium?

Would welcome any top tips from anyone who has been to evening gigs

Toilets are easy.

Normal queues at the bar, nothing major.

Last time I went they had Marshalls with traffic signs stopping and starting the pedestrians exiting the venue which meant that everything moved smoothly.

There are loads of toilets.

No to bringing your own soft drinks in.

Last time I went was to see the Stone Roses, did not take drinks in, easy enough to leave the stadium and walk back to Wembley Park underground station.

If you attempt to bring any food or drink in they will bin it for you when they search your bag on entry, so no point trying.

Easily one or two hours to get out at the end, but marshalled as a previous poster said.

Is that 1-2 hrs to get to the tube station cats? Do people filter out of the actual stadium fairly quickly?
I'm conscious I'll have to leave early to hobble to the coach and want to get ahead of the crowds.
back in my day you could park at Wembley so it wasn't such a hassle.

Haven’t been there for a concert since Green Day in 2010 but have been three times since the end of Feb for football matches.

Getting out of the actual stadium we found quick and easy although you might not exit by the way you came in so you might have to find your bearings.

Anyone getting the tube needs to be prepared to queue. We drove last week due to the train strike and parked at Wembley (£40! but we were straight out of the stadium, in the car and on the way home in minutes) but on the other two occasions we’ve gone by train and it’s taken nearly 2 hours to get to Euston.

Food and drink. The website states no food but says that you can take in an empty clear 500ml plastic bottle to fill at the water stations on the concourses and security have been fine with that on two occasions but last week it wasn’t allowed. Not sure how the people in front of us got 750ml bottles in!

The queues for refreshments were awful. I waited 10 minutes last week with just two people in front of me. Service is horrendously slow, it has been each time we’ve been. Drinks are priced at £2.99 for water, £4+ for a soft drink and £6+ for beer. Hot dogs are around £10.

Yes, sorry should've clarified! When I saw Adele a few years ago there it took about an hour and a half to get to the tube station. The stadium does empty pretty quickly but once outside it's a barely moving crowd for quite a long time. Fun singalongs though!

Queues for the loo not that bad for the football where there are more men, but for something like Harry Styles with more women I’d definitely expect queuing.

on the way back to the tube they funnel people down Wembley Way so it can take quite a while. Quicker going from Wembley Stadium
overground if you can.
